Company Profile

Recovery Road LLC* provides professionally developed and facilitated, nationally recognized, evidence-based Harm Reduction training for individuals, professionals, organizations, agencies, and communities facing the immediate and long term impacts of substance use disorder (SUD) on society.

The founding partners are Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (MN and IC&RC certifications) and certified trainers for the curriculum, with ongoing involvement in content development and curriculum deployment. This curriculum provides evidence-based approaches and perspectives aligned with guidelines from SAMHSA, the Harm Reduction Coalition, the American Psychological Association, and other leading organizations. Course content targets those in and/or associated with the treatment and recovery workforce, with customized options available for diverse audiences.

Participants will learn the medical, behavioral, environmental, and social drivers of SUD; the basis for Harm Reduction as a social justice movement; overdose reversal training; culturally specific considerations and resources; best-practice peer support; multiple pathways to recovery; recovery oriented systems of care; professionalism, ethics, and boundaries; and continuing education and networking opportunities. Facilitated group discussions, break-out groups, and scenario analyses are used to acknowledge and value personal perspectives, unique experiences, and individual growth. Participants can earn continuing education units (CEUs) to support ongoing professional development for a wide array of disciplines, e.g. Alcohol & Drug Counselors, Clinical Supervisors, Co-Occurring Disorder Professionals, Criminal Justice Professionals, Peer Recovery Specialists, and Prevention Professionals. Courses are offered in-person (MN only) and virtually (nationally). Other contracted services may include concurrent community outreach and education, grant writing support, and strategic planning and communications for partnerships and advocacy programs.
